Ok, I must have been living in the dark ages. Evidently there has been a movie out called "High School Musical" and EVERYONE who is in the teen set has seen it.
Then this past weekend was "High School Musical 2" and again - EVERYONE who is in the teen set watched it. Katya had called my mother and walked her through the instructions on how to record it on her DVR since she was with her grandfather Trousset for that night and might miss some of it. Even some girls (daughters of my girlfriends) that I thought would find themselves much too cool and sophisticated to watch a Disney Channel movie saw it. I was pleasantly surprised.
Anyway, I have been getting a lesson in Zac Efron (I now understand Aimee's earlier blog about this guy) and the other guy that has a cool 'fro and some decent lungs. I tried sitting down with Katya last night and watching part of it with her, but it was so corny I couldn't keep a straight face. Katya said the first one was better.
So, for you parents out there who either watched HSM2 or just had your kids watch it - what was their reaction to it?

Believe it or not, my 6 1/2 years old son LOVED it, too. Before he went to bed, he ran up to me and said, "I have a good news, The High School Musical 2 is on!" He then watched it for a half hour only instead of watching an entire show. Please be sure to save the tape for Dylan, too.
My kids *love* it. They are totally hooked on HSM and I am sure the same will be said for HSM2. Crazy...
But for now the girls are pestering me to go to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert in October. Ack!
Are you kidding? Do you even have to ask that?
We LOVED it. Charlie calls High School Musical 2, "High School Musical in the Kitchen"- apparently he likes the scene in the kitchen.
And well, if I could be Gabriella and have Troy as my boyfriend, I totally would!
3 of my 4 kids had a HSM2 parties to attend. That left only 1 at home, so she had a friend over to watch it(with parents in tow). I'm one of the ones who finds it corny. I think Troy's eyebrows look fake and he seemed to enjoy his solo (dancing around the golf course) a little bit too much. I found that part of the movie to be extremely goofy. The fact that my 5 year old had a huge party to attend to celebrate this movie seemed to put a damper on the teenage party. They just couldn't enjoy it as much knowing that little kids were so excited about it. Of course, that didn't stop anyone from watching it AGAIN on Saturday night, AND Sunday night.
Oh Dylan even begged us to buy him both Hannah Montana and HSM2 Movie. He has Hannah Montana, he is drooling over Hannah. As for HSM@, I think he likes the way they dance and sing, he even danced (You saw the way he danced at the mall.)
